About McGraths Hill

McGraths Hill is a suburb in the state of New South Wales, Australia. McGraths Hill is located 53 kilometers northwest of the Sydney central business district, in the local government area of City of Hawkesbury, postcode is 2756.  It is bounded to the northwest by South Creek, shortly before it enters the Hawkesbury River.The Suburb was named after James McGrath an Irish convict who was transported to Australia aboard the Hercules in 1802 James later purchased property in the area in 1813. James and his wife Mary Jane had three children, of whom were all born in McGraths Hill. McGraths Hill is now home to 2,646 residents.

Khan’s General Store, which is a local favourite, selling various selections of take away delights, groceries and coffee, located on Pitt Town Road and Wolseley Road junction. Many other locations are also used for television, and small productions such as The Australian Hotel which was established in 1891, possibly being the oldest family owned hotel in Australia, which still has live music, a delicious bistro and of course the famous Australian hospitality.
